Joseph was living in Mercur, Tooele County, Utah in 1900. Mercur was a gold mining town. Today it is a ghost town.
Joseph married Effie May Butler on July 11, 1895 in Salt Lake, Utah. They became the parents of five children. Alvin Ira (1895-1895) and Joseph Neri (1896-1897) died as babies in Butlerville.
The family moved to Teton, Idaho. Effie died there in 1904. Joseph married again on June 11, 1908 to Margaret Annie McGhie. They became the parents of two additional children.
Joseph died at age 69 of heart problems.
