Death Comes To Mrs. John Adams
Mrs. John Q. Adams, 72, a resident of Marion County all her life, died Wednesday, Nov. 7 in the Marion County Hospital where she had been a patient several weeks. She had been ill the past eight months.
Myrtle Burns was born Dec. 1, 1890 at Bruno, Ark., to B. F. and Samantha Jane (Angel) Burns, the oldest of a family of 15 children. She was united in marriage in 1908 to John Q. Adams who survives.
Mrs. Adams moved to Yellville in 1920 from the Greasy Creek community and was active in the Methodist Church for many years. She taught school a number of years, and was clerk in the Yellville postoffice from 1922 to 1930.
Survivors besides the husband are two children, Mrs. Glenn Johnson, Flippin; Ewell B. Adams, Yellville; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Lena Emery, Mrs. Conse Blankenship and Mrs. Hamlin Brown, Yellville; seven brothers, Theo Burns, Clarksville; E. H. Burns, Osceola; Fred Burns, Danville; Buell Burns, Morrilton; H. A. Burns, Lester Burns, and Frank Burns, Yellville.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Yellville Methodist Church with the Rev. Ray Edwards, pastor, and the Rev. M. J. Pollard, officiating.
Casketbearers will be R. M. Duren, Everett Dardin, Harold Foster, Lucian Layton, Cleo Martin and Milton Summerour.
Burial will be in the Yellville Cemetery with Holt-Burns Funeral Home in charge.
