David A. Klinges of 16 Chester Street, Ashley, was pronounced dead on arrival at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital last night at 8:45.
Dr. John Gibbons, county coroner, and Charles J. Spellman, deputy coroner, investigated and attributed death to a heart attack.
Mr. Klinges was taken to the hospital by his daughter, Mrs. Catherine Koonrad, same address.
He was born in Wilkes-Barre and attended St. Mary's school. He resided in Philadelphia with his wife, the former Catherine Pissott of Wilkes-Barre. Upon her death three years he took up residence with his daughter, Mrs. Andrew Koonrad, in Ashley.
Prior to his retirement he was employed by Columbia Mills 30 years. He was a member of St. Charles Church. Sugar Notch. He was a son of the late Christian and Gertrude Flickinger Klinges. He was an Army veteran of World War I.
Surviving besides Mrs. Koonrad are a son, Carl, New Brunswick, N. J.; daughters, Mrs. Lenore Devine, Philadelphia; Mrs. Esther Koonrad, Ashley; 13 grandchildren.
Friends may call tonight 7 to 10 and Tuesday 2 to 5 and 7 to 10.
Funeral will be held from the Klein Funeral Home, 243 South Washington Street, Thursday morning at 9. A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 in St. Charles Church and interment will be in St. Nicholas Cemetery, Shavertown. Friends may call Tuesday night, 7 to 10, and Wednesday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 10.
