Ethel Smith Hodges, 90, of the 800 block of Hughes Ave., passed away May 25, 2004, at Chesapeake General Hospital. Born in Johnston County, NC, Mrs. Hodges was the daughter of the late William Henry and Maude Hunter Adams Smith and the widow of Claiborne Ryan Hodges. She had retired from Overtons Market in South Norfolk and was a member of Rosemont Christian Church. Mrs. Hodges is survived by a sister, Maude H. Adams of Four Oaks, NC; a brother, Raymond Smith of Chesapeake.
