Funeral services will be 11am Thursday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Milan, with visitation one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. Marjorie was born on February 25, 1926 in Ft. Madison, IA, the daughter of Clarence R. and Elizabeth R. (Miller) Breen. She married Clayton "Doc" Davis on November 23, 1942 in Canton, MO. He preceded her on August 13, 1995.
Marjorie had been employed at the Garden Shop, Rock Island for over 35 years as a floral designer. She had been a member of Memorial Christian Church, Moline and First Christian Church, Mission, TX. She loved spending time with her family and friends, reading her daily Bible devotions, crocheting and needlepoint. Marjorie had enjoyed wintering in Texas since 1981, where she volunteered at hospital gift shops, served as Girl Scout and Brownie leader for many years, active with the Rock Island school district PTA and for many years was a Sunday School teacher.
Survivors include her daughters and sons in law, Rebecca Phillips, Social Circle, GA, Jeanette (John) Tornquist, Bloomington, IL, Karen (Ted) Arkebauer, Orion; grandchildren, Christy, Sarah, Michelle, Timothy, Phillip, Karla, Emily, Randy, Kimberly; 32 great grandchildren; 24 great great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and a host of very special friends..
She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter and son in law, Sharon and Gary Koester; granddaughter, Misty Sue McDonald; 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
