Marian was born May 13, 1928 in Idaho Falls, ID to George and Agnes (Berggren) Anderson. The family moved to Yakima in 1943 and Marian graduated from Yakima High School in 1946. She was a Registered Nurse and worked for Dr. James Zimmerman for many years and then Dr. Donald Orminski. Marian was a woman of many talents. Marian was a member of Women’s Christian Club, Sons of Norway, Bible Study Fellowship and sang in Bel Canto. Since 1945, she was active in Wiley Heights Covenant Church: she was a board member, sang in the choir which she also directed for several years, played her violin, taught Sunday School and was faithful in the quilting group at her church. Marian was also president of the Women’s Ministries, where she oversaw the kitchen and helped on numerous church functions and dinners.
She is survived by her brother Grant (Jackie) Anderson and sister-in-law Louise Anderson of Yakima; two nieces, seven nephews, one step niece and two step nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents George and Agnes Anderson, and brothers Marvin and Carl Anderson.
Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at West Hills Memorial Park and the Memorial Service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Wiley Heights Covenant Church. Memorials may be made to Wiley Heights Covenant Church.
