Virginia Hodges Garnto passed away Friday, June 24, 2016, at home surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 27, 2016, at First Baptist Church of Forsyth with burial to follow at 3:00 p.m., in Northview Cemetery, Dublin, Georgia. Dr. H. Darrell Watson will officiate. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church.

Mrs. Garnto, the daughter of the late Ernest Bryan Hodges and Rozalia Brantley Hodges was born December 15, 1929, in Oconee, Georgia. Her husband, Charles Lindbergh Garnto, her six brothers and her two sisters preceded her in death.

Mrs. Garnto was retired owner and operator of Gateway Travel Agency. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Forsyth, Joy Sunday School, a volunteer for Monroe County Hospital Auxiliary, a member of Woodmen of the World and a member of the Red Hat Society.

Survivors include her children, Glenda (J.C.) Todd of Fayetteville, Larry Garnto of Forsyth and Gerald Garnto of Progreso, Yucatan, Mexico; step-son, Charles Dean (Karen) Garnto of Buford; nine grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.

The family may be contacted at 5300 Zebulon Road, Apartment 2032, Macon, GA 31210.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Hospice Care Options, 486 New Street, Macon, GA 31201, or donor’s favorite charity.

Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
