Marian Kleiser Lemons, 99, passed away June 20,2016, at the Lebanon Valley Home in Annville.

She was born on June 2, 1917, in Lebanon, the daughter of the late Ralph and Gertrude (Bressler) Kleiser.

Except for short-term moves to Pittsburgh and New Jersey during the Depression, Marian lived the rest of her life in Lebanon County, including the City of Lebanon, Lawn and Palmyra. She was a member of Palm Lutheran Church and a past member of the Palmyra Garden Club.

After retiring from Winthrop Laboratories in 1982, Marian put her considerable skills in sewing and needlework to use as a volunteer at Spangcrest, making blankets and afghans for those in need.

She had a great curiosity about the world around her, which fueled a life-long joy in reading; the library was one of her favorite spots in Palmyra. Even when her vision deteriorated to the point of not being able to read books in print, she enjoyed audio books provided by the Society for the Blind.

Marian loved spending time with family and friends, playing cards and games or just visiting. She enjoyed cooking and planned and prepared her own meals until the age of 95.

Marian is survived by two children, George W. (Bill) Lemons, Jr. of Box Elder, SD and Susan Lemons Lasher of Palmyra; two grandchildren, Kristel Lasher Wisor of Altoona and Andrew Lemons of Seneca, SC; and 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Lemons, Sr.; her granddaughter, Dianne Lasher; and her sister, Christine Kleiser Keath.

Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of the Lebanon Valley Home, 550 East Main St., Annville, on Monday June 27, 2016, at 2 PM. The family will begin to receive guests at 1 PM. Interment will follow in Kimmerling's Cemetery, Avon.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Benevolent Fund of the Lebanon Valley Home, 550 East Main St., Annville, PA 17003 in memory of Marian Lemons.

There's still time to send flowers to the Viewing at the Chapel of the Lebanon Valley Home from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Jun 27, 2016.
