Ada May Haining was born on 01 May 1867 in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada to William and Mary (Carr) Haining. She married James Alexander Fraser on 16 Feb 1884 at her parent’s home on Carleton St. in Fredericton, NB, Canada, by A.J. Mowatt, Minister of Saint Paul’s Church. The first of their 5 children were born in Fredericton where James was employed as a barber. The family immigrated to Presque Isle, Maine, then to Littleton, NH. In 1901, Ada and James A. Fraser were divorced. On December 24, 1907, Ada married Emile William Lagasse in Littleton. They made their homes in Bethlehem, Salisbury, Enfield, and Gorham, NH. After husband Will Lagasse died, she lived on Lower Main St., in Gorham, NH, with daughter Edna Cheney, 1955–1956. A patient for only two weeks at Willey’s Nursing Home of Jefferson, Ada (Haining) Fraser Lagasse died March 14, 1957. Her funeral was held at the Wilson Funeral Home, with the Congregational Church pastor officiating. After entombment in the Evans cemetery vault, she was buried in Glenwood Cemetery, Littleton, NH.
