Maudie was born a twin, with her brother Claudie who died a few months after birth. She always felt like a part of her was missing. She was a loving daughter, wife and mother. Her eight grandchildren called her Mamaw. They were the light of her life. She also was able to give her love to five gr-grandchildren. Her devotion to her family was never ending. Her little son was born with Spina Bifita and the rest of her life was devoted to him. She buried only one of her babies, Zona, who died at the age of twenty seven and is buried at Hopewell also.

The Paris News, Aug 1978. ‘MAUDIE EMMA POSEY-- Mrs. Maudie E. Posey of 1973 E. Booth St., Paris, Texas died at McCuistion Regional Medical Center. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel. Dell Young, Church of Christ minister of Valliant, Oklahoma, will officiate and burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery.

Mrs. Posey was born 20 May 1907, a daughter of Alva Lee and Arizona Mitchell Taylor. She was a homemaker and member of Lamar Road Church of Christ. She married John Wesley Posey on 27 Nov 1926. He preceded her in death on 12 Jan 1975.

Survivers include one son, Donnie Ray Posey of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Duane (Mary Jo) Tallant of Austin, Texas and Mrs. Bill (Jean) Jones of Petty, Texas; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two brothers, Lawrence Taylor of McDade, Louisana and Sam Taylor of McKinney, Texas; three sisters, Mrs. Bob (Pearl) Chambless of Richardson, Texas, Mrs. Udell (Eunice) Morrison of Blossom, Texas and Mrs. Bill (Goldie) Welch of Paris, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Zona Bell Williams, on 8 June 1957; and two brothers, Goldman Taylor on 27 May 1977 and MeLee Taylor on 13 July 1978'.
