Kelsie Hill, a native of Mahopac Falls
and uncle of County Clerk Harry M.
Barrett, died at his home in Cortland,
N.Y. on March 27, 1940, in his 79th
year. He was the eldest child of
Harrison and Loretta Hill and worked
on the homestead farm in his youth. 52
years ago he married Cora Hill, a
daughter of Isaac and Mary Hill, and
then moved to Cortland where he was
employed in the Cortland Wagon Manu-
facturing plant for 25 years. He has
since resided in Cortland. When a boy
he united with the Mahopac Mines
Methodist church and upon moving to
Cortland took his letter to the Methodist
church there in which he had been active
and was a valued member.
Surviving are his wife and four sisters,
Mrs. Alton Morse, Mrs. Henry Barrett, Mrs.
Mervin Post, all of Mahopac Falls and Mrs.
Carrie Austin of Peekskill.
Interment will be made in the family plot
in the Ballard-Barrett cemetery, Mahopac
Falls.
