Col. Clarence Lineberger, 65, of 1437 Asbury av., Winnetka, retired veteran of World Wars I and II and a Chicago district superintendent of schools until last summer, died yesterday in Evanston hospital. A native of Gastonia, N. C., he was a World War I cavalry officer and served in the federal food administration. In World War II he commanded supply elements in the European combat are and was awarded the bronze star medal. He was a member of the board of the Illinois synod of the United Lutheran church. Surviving are his widow, Dorothy; two daughters, Mrs. Julia Strnad and Patricia Ann, and a son, Clarence Jr. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Wilmette Evangelical Lutheran church.
