ANN E. CUMMICKEL
Ann Elizabeth Cummickel, was born June 24, 1928 in McCune, Kansas to Loren Dantic and Emma Fox Dantic. Ann passed away September 16, 2011 in Kansas City, Missouri. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Walter E. Cummickel, a son David Cummickel and a brother Cecil R. Dantic. She is survived by three children, Rod Cummickel of Garland, Texas, Jill Cummickel Saighman of Blue Springs, Missouri and Kevin Cummickel of Shawnee, Kansas. She also leaves a sister and two brothers. Ann was blessed with nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren,as well as many dear friends at Truman Medical Center Lakewood-Long Term Care.
Ann graduated from Parsons High School in 1947 and attended St. Mary's School of Nursing before marrying Walter on January 29, 1949 in Kansas City, Missouri. They were long time residents of Raytown, Missouri and raised four children in a loving, caring, Christian home. Ann sacrificed a career outside the home for an unconditional commitment to her husband and four children. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed flowers, gardening and cooking. She was fond of animals, particularly strays around Cameron, Missouri, their retirement home. In later years, both Ann and Walter were active as group home parents for the Missouri Baptist Children's Home. Visitation will be 1-2pm, Friday, September 23, 2011, followed by funeral services at 2pm at Floral Hills Funeral Home. (Arr: D.W.
