L.H. Bartlow, aged 50 years, a well known and long time resident of Park City, died at the Miners Hospital last Sunday from injuries received at the Silver King Coalition on November 24th, when he and his partner, W.G. Critton, were caught in a cave-in while at work on the 1100 level. Mr. Critton was quite badly injured, but not seriously.
Mr. Bartlow had been a sufferer with miners consumption for some time and was soon to give up mining when the accident occurred. Some years ago Mr. and Mrs. Bartlow took up their residence in Salt Lake, Mr. Bartlow returning to Park City about three years ago to work at the King mine. Deceased was a man much admired by his fellow workmen, because of his genial disposition and always gentlemanly demeanor.
Surviving him are his widow, Mrs. Chloe Mikesell Bartlow, three sons, Orville and Arthur, of Salt Lake, and Alvin, of Los Angeles, California, one brother and four sisters, and to these sorrowing ones sympathy is extended in their greatest bereavement.
Funeral services were held at the L.D.S church, this city, Wednesday morning, Bishop Oblad and President W.J. Lewis being the speakers. The remains were taken direct to Salt Lake by Undertaker Archer, interment taking place in Mount Olivet cemetery.
