Mary "Louise" was the daughter of W.H. Newton Lewis and Mary E. (Elliott) Lewis and the wife of James Clyde Stansell whom she married 11 Feb 1939 at Eastland Co., TX. She attended schools in Bedford, Eastland and Cisco, graduating from Cisco High School in 1937. She married James "Clyde" Stansell on February 1 l, 1939. She loved to cook and during the many years she and her husband lived in Duncan, Oklahoma, she did catering out of their home. As a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Duncan, she served as Secretary of the Sunday School. She also served as Hostess of the Kitchen, Dining Room and Parlor, overseeing the meal preparation for all men's and women's Presbytery Conventions as well as all local Church functions. Mrs. Stansell was an ordained Elder in the Presbyterian Church.
While living in Eastland, Texas, she worked for Eastland Independent School District (ISD) for 16 years as Supervisor of the Cafeteria at Eastland High School. For fourteen of those years, she also served as Food Service Director for all schools. She retired in 1983.
Mrs. Stansell was preceded in death by her husband and was survived by her four children and their spouses, Bill and Lana Barclay of Aledo, Laura and Jim Reinbolt of Aspermont, Linda and Terry Stafford of Beggs, OK, and Lewis and Marsha Stansell of Waxahachie; six grandchildren and their spouses, Todd and Ruth Barclay, Lance and Michelle Barclay, Greg and Traci (Barclay) Cottrell, Michael and Tiffany (Reinbolt) Zinna, Kris and Chea Stansell, and Cody and Marie (Stansell) Johnson. In addition, she was also survived by four step-grandchildren and their spouses, Matt and Maritza Stafford, Alec and Cheryl Stafford, Brett and Amie Grant and Cameron and Linsey Grant; seven great-grandchildren, Riley and Avery Cottrell, Emma and Paige Barclay, Kate Barclay, Whitney Stansell, and Hailey Johnson. She was also survived by one brother, Vernon Lewis and numerous nieces and nephews.
