He was a retired farmer and did custom threshing throughout the county for many years. He was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church Zion for more than 60 years.
Surviving are his wife, Fannie Bussard Ropp; four daughters, Mrs. Helen Remsburg, Jefferson; Mrs. Evelyn Brandenburg, Middletown; Mrs. Frances Duvall, Walkersville; and Mrs. Beverly Campbell, Albuaquerque, NM; one son, M. Lee Ropp, Myersville; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Reeder and Mrs. Clarence Ford; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a son, George Bernard Ropp in 1933.
Services were held at the Thompson Funeral Home, Middletown; interment was in the Lutheran Cemetery, Middletown.
