Cathy was born August 17, 1931, in Tams, Illinois, to Elmer & Jewel Sims. Cathy moved to Huntington Park, Ca. with her family in 1941, where she was raised along with her three sisters. Cathy met and married Harry Acevedo 52 years ago. Cathy showed her strong work ethic as she worked for the Los Angeles Paper Bag Co. for 35 years while raising her 3 children. Harry & Cathy loved vacationing in Redding, Ca, and fell in love with the area so much that they bought property near Whiskeytown Lake in 1976. They decided to make the move to Redding permanent.
