Appleton, Wis. - Sonia M. Chasteen, 60, of Appleton passed away Friday, April 23, 2004, following a lengthy battle with breast cancer.
Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Center Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Ellington, Wis., with the Rev. Lauretta Waegli officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Wichmann Funeral Home in downtown Appleton. Visitation will resume 10 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at the church.
Sonia was born on May 4, 1943 in Anthon, Iowa to Frank and Sylvia Ashley.
She was united in marriage to Paul C. Chasteen on April 24, 1972. She and her husband Paul were involved in the operation of WIHN Radio in Bloomington-Normal Illinois for several years. They have been living in Appleton since 1994.
Survivors include her father, Frank Ashley of Lawton, Iowa; her husband, Paul, four daughters ans sons-in-law, Marci and Chris, Andre and Brad, Shelly and Todd and Brandy and Clindt; five grandchildren, Brad, Sydney, Chase, Ian and Trevin. She is further survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Brian and Sheryl Ashley of Anthon, Iowa; and her niece and nephews, Kami, Ken and Tony.
She was preceded in death by her mother; and an infant daughter.
