Obituary - Dusher.
Melissa Baxter, eldest daughter of George and Margaret Baxter was born April 11, 1844 in Karl county, Ohio. While in her early teens the family moved to Schuyler Co., Ills. where in 1862 she was married to Wm. Dusher. Here she made her home until the winter of 1900. Being a widow she came home to Kansas and has since made her home with her brother Harry Baxter of this place.

In early life she became converted and united with the Methodist church of which she was a consistent member at time of her death.

She leaves to revere her memory three brothers, E. Baxter, of Oakley, Kansas, H. Baxter, of this place, and Geo. Baxter, of Moscow, Idaho; two sisters preceded her in death.

Mother Dusher had one daughter also who preceded her demise, leaving two children whom Mother Dusher raised. She also has five great grandchildren and many other near relatives.

Mother Dusher was one of those benovelent kind, generous souls of which this world stands so much in need. Pleasant, affable and kind in her church work and every ready to accommodate her neighbors. Her going will be greatly missed especially by her brother Harry with whom she lived the past twenty years and to whom she was very much devoted. Peace be to her memory and to those bereft our sympathy.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 23, at the Harmon Center school house, attended by a large number of old friends and neighbors. Rev. G.H. Cavit, of the M.E. church of this city preached the funeral sermon.
