BUFFALO - Carl Elvert Kingsmore, 78, of 3015 Mt. Lebanon Road, died Feb. 19, 1997, at home after a brief illness.

A native of Buffalo, he was the son of the late James M. and Vera Gregory Kingsmore.

He retired after 45 years with United Merchants, Buffalo Plant. He was a member of Putman Baptist Church, where he was a former deacon and custodian.

Survivors include his wife, Bertie O'Shields Kingsmore; one daughter, Karen K. Sullivan of Huntington, W.Va.; four sons, John F. Kingsmore of Glendale, Ariz., Kenneth H. Kingsmore of Poquoson , Va., Terry A. Kingsmore of Simpsonville and Karmen D. Kingsmore of Buffalo; three sisters, Lillie K. Parks of Union, Katharine K. Spence of Augusta, Ga., and Audrey K. Harmon of Georgetown; one brother, Willis Kingsmore of Union; and eight grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at the S.R Holcombe Funeral Home. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Putman Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Donald Tillman. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m.

The family is at the home.
