Mr. Alquist was born on Feb. 20, 1948 in Clay Center, Kansas to the late Sheldon and Ida Sue Stell Alquist. He was a school teacher and veteran of the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
He is preceded in death by his parents and younger brother Chester Alquist.
Survivors include one daughter, Lynda Alquist; one son and daughter-in-law, John and Patty Alquist of Texarkana, Texas; sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Bob Davis of Miffintown, PA; step-sister Coleen Gill of Newton, KS; two step-brothers, Daniel Alquist of Clifton, KS and William Gibbs of Camden, AR and six grandchildren.
Services were scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 20 at Palm Mortuary, Las Vegas, Nevada.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association.
