"George Beck Seriously Injured.

Yesterday afternoon George Beck, residing at Germantown, on the southern suburbs of Pottsville, was seriously injured by being run over with a heavy farmer wagon. Mr. Beck was doing some hauling on the hill near his house, when his team ran away. He was thrown off the wagon, the wheels of which passed over his abdomen, injuring him, it is thought, seriously. The wagon was demolished before the horses were stopped. The injured man is a brother to William and Frederick Beck, and is about 65 years of age. He is attended by Dr. Dechert, of Schuylkill Haven."

Pottsville Republican (Pottsville, PA), 06 Jun 1890, Friday, Page 4:

Recovery was doubtful at first bat a strong constitution pulled him through. His son William who came on from Northwestern Illinois to see him, was in town this morning"
