Dorothy V. Hale passed away June 16, 2016 while at Henderson Health and Rehab with her family by her side.

“Dot,” as she was affectionately called, was born on May 26, 1926 in Rusk County to B.H. VanSickle and Elsie Lee VanSickle, the 4th of 6 children. She was married to the love of her life, Travis Hale, for 57 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She was a faithful charter member of her beloved church home, Trinity Baptist Church, for 64 years. She enjoyed cooking and sharing her recipes with her friends and family.

To her grandchildren and great-grandchildren she was “MaMa”, a friend, spiritual leader, care giver, and play mate. She represented wisdom, strength, and joy to all those who knew her. She always knew how to bring light to any situation. Dot spent her 90 years on earth loving her family, friends, and the Lord, above all else.

In addition to her husband, Travis Hale, she was preceded in death by her parents, B.H. VanSickle & Elsie Lee VanSickle; brothers, Virgil VanSickle, Billy A. VanSickle, Reuben VanSickle; and sister, Sue Berry.
