“Dot,” as she was affectionately called, was born on May 26, 1926 in Rusk County to B.H. VanSickle and Elsie Lee VanSickle, the 4th of 6 children. She was married to the love of her life, Travis Hale, for 57 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She was a faithful charter member of her beloved church home, Trinity Baptist Church, for 64 years. She enjoyed cooking and sharing her recipes with her friends and family.
