Nancy A Moody Douglass was born in 1801 in Boardman township, Trumbull County, Ohio, the daughter of James Moody and Elizabeth Tinch. She married John Douglas in 1827 and had a family of four boys and two girls. They moved to southern Iowa in the early 1850s and lived in Van Buren county and eventually to Jones township, Union county.
