Jack C. Burris, 84, of Russellville, died Sunday, June 12, 2016 at Johnson County Regional Hospital in Clarksville. The son of Earl and Lois Reed Burris, he was born October 3, 1931 in Russellville. He was a member of the class of 1949 at Russellville High School. He was a United States Air Force Veteran of the Korean War. Following his military service, Jack attended Arkansas Tech University where he played football under Coach Sam Hindsman.

He was the founder and owner of Burris Oil Company in Russellville. He was a member of the Russellville Lions Club, the Riggs Hamilton Post of the American Legion where he had served as Post Commander. He was a member of Retreads and visited all 50 states on his Honda 750 Goldwing. He was a member of First United Methodist Church where he attended the Carden Sunday School Class. He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Wooten Burris; his parents; a brother, Gary Keith Burris.

He is survived by 2 daughters, Cindy (Brad) Krost, Russellville, Cheryl (Alan) Williams, Russellville;
4 grandchildren, Brian (Wei) Krost, Kevin Krost, Aaron (Kelly) Williams, Matt (Lindsey) Williams; great granddaughter, Mei Krost; 3 sisters, Earlene Webb, Russellville, Anna Jane Rylee, Rogers, Linda Dare McBride, Fayetteville.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00PM, Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at First United Methodist Church and under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service. Rev. Vic Nixon and Rev. Gail Brooks will officiate. Full military honors will be provided by the Rogers Rye Post #2283 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Visitation from 3:00-4:00pm in the Narthex of the church.
