HELEN ANDERSON,88, OF ROCHESTER DIES.
Helen Virginia Anderson,88, a resident of Madonna Towers, died Tuesday April 19, 1994 of natural causes at St Marys Hospital emergency room.
Helen Virginia Mrachek was born March 11, 1906 in Rochester she grew up here and graduated from Rochester High School in 1924 and later worked for Mayo Clinic. On June 27, 1930 she married Arnold N. "Andy" Anderson in Rochester. The couple lived here until 1950 when they moved to Chicago where he worked as a passenger traffic manager for Chicago Great Northwestern Railroad. He retired in 1965 and the couple moved back to Rochester. He died Feb 1992. Mrs. Anderson worked as a homemaker all her married life. She was a member of Calvary Episcopal Church, its Alter guild and Women's club.
She has resided for the past five years at Madonna Towers.
Survivors include a son James M of Cannon falls, a daughter Janet (Mrs.Mort)Newman of Glenview, ILL; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister Esther Asch of Marion, Ohio. She preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.
A Memorial service will be at 1 pm Friday at Madonna Towers Chapel with the Rev. Nicholas Mezacapa of Calvary Episcopal church officiating Private family burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
