OBITUARY

John Henen Coburn was born near Des Moines, Iowa, the 13th day of February 1861. Was united in marriage to Sadie Margret Shreffler December 25, 1883. To this union was born 9 children, Edmond S., who lives near Welsh, Colorado; Jennie me Leach, from Carlton, Nebraska; Johnny Cleveland, who passed away at the age of 13 years; Raymond Wesley, from Boise City, Oklahoma; Iva Orville, from Liberal, Oklahoma, Charles Walter from Jet Holt, Michigan; Nora Lawrence, from Liberal, Kansas; Sadie Louella Allen, of Enid, all of whom were present. Twenty-eight grand children and three great grand children.

They were married at Geneva, Nebraska, and made that their home until 1894 when they came to Oklahoma. They lived in, and near, Nash until 1919, they moved to Colorado where they lived until four years ago lost March when they moved to Enid, which was their home at the time of his death. He was converted and baptized in the Baptist Church, in this town, in the year 1909, and passed away at Halstead Hopspital, in Halstead, Kansas, July 8, 1930 at the age of 69 year, 4 months and 18 days.

He leaves to morn his death, his loving and devoted wife, 8 children, 2 brothers and two sisters, Mrs. Maggie Jarvis, of Kansas City, who attended the funeral services, also Mrs. Iva Coburn, Mrs. Raymond Coburn, Mrs. Walter Coburn and Mr. Roy Allen. The ones who were unable to attend were: Mrs. Edmond Coburn, Mrs. Nora Coburn, Mrs. Austin Coburn, and Mr. Harry Leach, Mrs. Bell Montgomery, of Fairmont, Nebraska, a sister; Mr. Enoch Coburn in California, a brother, and Mr. Ed Coburn, at Hastings, Nebraska, a brother. 28 grand children and 3 great grand children.

The other relatives that attended the services were his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Fletcher Deal of Mounds, Oklahoma; (…?) other relatives, Mrs. Fae Terry and Mrs. Harold Deal, of Tulsa; Mr. Amon Deal, of Mounds; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Shreffler, of Oklahoma City; Mr. and Mrs. Jim Deal, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Hildinger and family, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Dunham, of Nash.

The remains were brought to the home of Mrs. Minnie Shreffler, where the body rested until services. The six sons rendered their last service to their father by acting as pall bearers. His nieces acting as flower girls. A host of frends attend the services and extended their sympathy.---Contributed.
