Sweetwater - V. A. "Lonnie" Lewis, 73, of Nolan, a retired farmer, died at 10 p.m. Monday in Campbell Hospital in Weatherford following a long illness.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Cate-Spencer Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. James L. Kinsey and the Rev. Melvin Byrd, Baptist ministers, will officiate. Burial will be in Slater's Chapel Cemetery.

Born Jun 16, 1907 in Nolan, he was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Nolan Baptist Church. He married Flora Owens on Nov. 8, 1932 in Nolan.

Survivors include his wife; a son, W. A. Lewis of Santo; a brother, C. W. Lewis of Nolan; three step-grandchildren, Cheryl Ator, Christi Wright and Michael Wright, all of Santo.

Pallbearers will be R. T. Dunlap, Bobby Lewis, Edward Lewis, Garland Storey, Bob Petty and Carl Moore.
