Robert Lee - William F. Burns, 81, a resident of this area since 1895, died at 7:15 a.m. Saturday at his home in the Fort Chadbourne community north of Bronte.
Born Aug. 31, 1881 in Athens, Texas, he moved to this area when he was a child. He was married to Daisy Weathers, daughter of a pioneer ranch family north of Robert Lee. Mr. Burns worked as a cowboy before his marriage and later became a stock farmer.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Decker Cemetery between Blackwell and Maryneal.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, Jess Burns of Mount Vernon, Mo. and Dennis Burns of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Kenneth Brusenhan of Santa Anna, Zola and Edna Burns of the home; and two grandchildren.
