Lorena Blakley Davies
Lorena Blakley Davies went to be with her Lord May 20, 2010, at the age of 94.
She was born Nov. 27, 1915, in Hamilton County, Texas. She married Jeff Davies on Nov. 2, 1935, in Hico, Texas. Their baby boy, Berry Dean died August 1935 [actually 1940]. Jeff and Lorena made their home in Sweetwater, Texas, for more than 50 years. Jeff and Lorena are remembered for their service to their customers when they owned Davies Metal Works. They worshipped and served as members of the Lamar Street Church of Christ for many years.
Ms. Davies is preceded in death by her husband, Jeff Davies; her son Berry Dean Davies; one sister, Oletha Strother; and two brothers, James Blakley and Harold Blakley.
She is survived by her daughter, Marla Davies Kehoe, of Mesquite, TX and her children Michelle Patterson, Lisa Law and Rachel Prewitt; and her son Jerry Davies, his wife Therese Davies of Mesa, Ariz. and their children Jeffrey Davies, Susan Davies and Christopher Davies. Last but certainly not least are her great-grandchildren, Berkley Brown, Blake Patterson, Austyn Davies, Cameron Patterson, Hannah Davies, Michael Davies, Payton Prewitt, Joshua Campos, Aynsley Prewitt, Patriot Law, Ronald Davies and Jason Davies.
Honorary pallbearers are Jeffrey Davies, Christopher Davies, Michael Patterson, Paul Prewitt, Patrick Law, Blake Patterson and Cameron Patterson.
Visitation will be held from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 23, 2010, at Anderson-Clayton Bros. Funeral Home, 1111 Military Parkway, Mesquite, TX 75145.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, May 24, 2010, at Anderson-Clayton Bros. Chapel, 1111 Military Parkway, Mesquite, TX, 75149.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at Garden of Memories, on East I-20 in Sweetwater, TX 79556.
