A news article:
Noted Clown Has Big Rubber Nosed Lady Companion
Felix Adler, noted clown with Ringling Bros.. Barnum and Bailcy Circus and brother of an Anderson woman, now has serious competition in his medium.
According to an INS story. Amelia Adler didn't realize when she married her husband nine years ago, he might make a clown
oul of her.
She's a nice kind of clown, though, with a painted face and big shoes, and she makes people laugh. Her make-up gives her eyes an impish look; a curlecue mouth makes her grin spread all over her face, and to top it all off, she has been given a huge, red, rubber nose. Her clown hair is straight and short and her costumes of an out- landish red and white. She carries an umbrella with built-in rain. Underneath the clown attire is a dainty face, long auburn hair, and eyes thal laugh through the
make-up.
Adler always refers .to his wife as a lady clowning. She said, "It would sound pretty silly for him to say. 'This is my wife, she's a lady clown'."
Although they spend most of the year traveling, the Adlers are always eager to get back to their New York apartment.
