The Paris News, Sunday, June 12, 2016, page A3. S Steve Campbell of Sammamish, Washington, passed away May 10, 2016. He was born on March 16, 1931, in Chicota, Texas, to Chester and Mae Pearl (Hunter) Campbell. He was raised in Chicota, and attended Paris Junior College, in Paris, Texas and later completed his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas.

Steve married Janet on Nov. 23, 1956, in Oak Harbor, Washington. He was honorably retired as a Lieutenant from the U.S. Navy. He also worked for Vitro Labs, and finished his career working with the Boeing Aerospace Co. (1959–91) where he worked on parts engineering and testing for programs that included: Minute Man, BOMARC, Saturn rockets, Mariner Venus/Mercury missions; IUS (Inertial Upper Stage) program, B-1 Bomber and Central Parts Engineering Interconnects.

Steve enjoyed visiting with family and friends, hunting, fishing, puttering around and fixing things and making swings for his beloved grand- and great-grandchildren. A model husband and father, Steve leaves a legacy of faith in Jesus, love of family, generosity and forgiveness. His humor, quick wit and occasional curmudgeon behavior kept everyone laughing.

Steve is survived by his wife; four children. He will also be missed by his eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Steve is preceded in death by his son, S Steve Campbell Jr., his sister Cornelia "Coolie" Campbell Pruett-Reeves and his parents.
Mr. Campbell will be inurned at Tahoma National Cemetery, Kent, Washington. His family suggests memorial remembrances to Community Church of Joy (Steve Campbell Memorial – Youth Programs), 723 233rd Ave NE, Sammamish, WA 98074.
