As we go to press we learn of the sudden death of Mrs. Jones, mother of Sank Jones, near Newton. We have not been able to learn any of the details of the death or funeral arrangements. More extended notice will appear next week.

Brief mention was made last week of the death of Mrs. Jones, who resided with her son, J. E. Jones near Newton. The following information was furnished us since then:
Mrs. Caladonia Chapman Jones was born near Newton, October 6th 1842 and died December 18th 1929. She was married to J. L. Jones of Lawrence on December 26, 1866.
To this union was born one son, J. E. Jones of Newton, who survives her. Mrs. Jones was a good woman, always ready to help her friends and ever thoughtful of her loved ones; she was loved by all who knew her. She leaves one son, five grand children, four great grand children, one brother in Texas in his 90th year, and a host of relatives and friends to mourn her death.
The funeral was held from the Newton Presbyterian Church Thursday afternoon, the pastor, Rev. J. J. McInnis officiating, following which interment was made in Masonic cemetery here.
