Genealogical records indicate Josiah is buried at the New Carlisle Cemetery, New Carlisle, Ohio, and cemetery records confirm it. He and his second wife, Lydia Burns Barnhart, are buried in the Burns family plot consisting of eight grave sites purchased by Lydia's mother, Margaret Burns, in 1908.
