HUNTINGTON - Edward C. Haggerty, 64, Warren, died at 2:15 a.m. Monday, Dec. 1, 2003, at Parkview Huntington Hospital. He was born on May 25, 1939, in LaFontaine, to Charles E. and Freida (Hilly) Haggerty. He married Barbara J. Botkin on Aug. 23, 1958, in Marion. She survives.
A lifelong Huntington County resident, he attended LaFontaine High School. He retired from General Motors, Marion, in 1991, after 22 years service. He also worked part-time for Trans-Wheel, Huntington, for five years. He loved camping and computers. He was a member of Hillside Wesleyan Church.
Also surviving are three sons, Steve (Robbin) Haggerty, LaFontaine, Mike (Stacy) Haggerty and Tim Haggerty, both of Warren; a brother, Dr. Fred (Nancy) Haggerty, Brazil; three sisters, Anna (David) Wells, Marion, Jessie (Roy) Bollett, Van Buren, and Edna Whitton, LaFontaine; eight grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and a son-in-law, Joe Stockman, Warren. A daughter, Lisa Stockman, and a sister, Florence Cramer, are deceased.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Glancy Funeral Homes, H. Brown & Son Chapel, 203 N. Matilda St., Warren. Pastor Gary Bingham will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. to time of services Thursday. Preferred memorials are to the American Diabetes Association, 7363 E. 21st St., Indianapolis, Ind. 46219.
