When she returned to the states in 1976, she retired to Sunray. She was a member of Sunray Church of Christ, where she taught a ladies class for many years. She worked as a "Grandmother Volunteer" for Sunray Elementary School in the VIPS program (Volunteers in Public Schools), where Mrs. Eubank read stories to students, and in turn, they read stories to her.
