His home was four miles from the birth place of Andrew Jensen, our church historian on the west coast of Jylland by Limfjord.
He learned the booker take and was employed on a sailing vessel making barrels which were used to salt fish in. He sailed the North sea and on the west coast of Norway but never went ashore.
His formal education was attained in Denmark. He served his military training in the Danish Navy and remained on active duty for several years after his training.
In Copenhagen he met and married Ane Marie Nielsine Mikkelsen, This is where they met the LDS Missionaries and joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After they joined the church they wanted to come to zion so they emigrated to the united States leaving Copenhagen, Denmark 16 June 1882.
He homesteaded a ranch up the Main Mink Creek.
He owned a small herd of cattle and sheep and he always kept many boxes of bees. He also raised chickens.
Carl was clever with wood and made clogs for the family out of aspen. The clogs covered with leather were not too bad.
He always walked to church as he said his horses needed to rest on Sunday.
