Waneard A. Buckner of Terrebonne died Sunday of natural causes. He was 83.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. June 23 at Terrebonne Pioneer Cemetery.
Mr. Buckner was born March 14, 1920, in Independence to Howard and Augusta (McClennen) Buckner. He grew up in Florence and Lone Pine and graduated from Crook County High School. He married Doris Tripp on Jan. 19, 1946, in Redmond.
Mr. Buckner served in the Navy for three years during World War II.
He retired in 1977 from a lifetime of ranching.
His hobbies included fishing, hunting and horseback riding. He also enjoyed his friends in the Terrebonne community.
Survivors include his son Tom of Terrebonne; a daughter, Connie Frisbee of Redmond; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.
