Barbara "Petey" (Grosse)Seibold 10/31/1932 ~ 10/01/2014 OCEANSIDE -- Petey was born in Los Angeles to Russell and Bernice (Wilcox) Grosse and died suddenly at the age of 81 after a brief illness. She was beloved by an extended family of relatives and near- relatives, collected over a long life of connection and caring, wherever home was -- Oceanside, Hawaii or Arizona. Petey was a proud Oceanside - Carlsbad Pirate (Class of 1950) and regularly attended reunions with her many lifelong and new friends. She had a large circle of lifetime friends in the community. She loved playing bridge and was a longterm member of the charitable organization P.E.O. Her contributions to the community ranged from being a founding member of the North County Concert Association, to being a Camp Fire Girl Leader and a longtime church member, to opening her home to her children's many friends. A retired Realtor, Petey has done charitable work, RV camped and raised a big family. She is survived by her husband Raymond Seibold (USMC, Ret.), her brother Russell Grosse (Bebe Mooney), children Stevan, Adele, Jean, Jennifer (Stridsberg) and John and stepdaughter Terry Cecil as well as grandchildren Sara and Nicholas Stridsberg, Chelsea Hamilton, Ted Doukas, Cody Cecil, Katie Markham and Ashley Curry. Her stepdaughter Rene Curry and grandson Derek Curry predeceased her. Petey will be remembered for her huge heart, her loyalty and her humor. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 4, 2014, at Grace Anglican Church, 4055 "P" Oceanside Blvd., Oceanside, CA 92056.
