NAUGATUCK — Mr. Alfred "Fred" J. Perugini, 78, of 47 Jolie Road, passed away unexpectedly at Yale New Haven Hospital on Thursday, June 9, 2016. He was the husband of Jacqueline "Jackie" (Raggo) Perugini.

Fred was born in Waterbury on March 30, 1938, son of the late Joseph and Vitangela (Gugliotti) Perugini. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves.

He was the former Vice President of Albert Bros. Scrap Metal in Waterbury where he worked since 1965. He was the past President of the Smaller Manufacturers Association of Connecticut and served on the Waterbury Development Agency. He was a communicant of St. Lucy's Church and a member of the Pontelandolfo Community Club.

Fred leaves a legacy of sensitivity, compassion, humor, protection and love. He will be sorely missed by his family, friends and extended family at Albert Brothers.

Besides his wife Jackie of 57 years, Fred leaves his daughter, Robin Sills and her husband, Richard, of Prospect; a sister, Lena Therault of Waterbury; two grandchildren, Meghan Morin and her husband, Nicholas, of Bristol and Joseph Sills and his wife, Kate, of North Hampton, Mass.; a great-grandson, Paul Morin of Bristol; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Daniel Perugini; a sister-in-law, Beverly Perugini; and a brother-in-law, Edward Therault.

Arrangements: Funeral will be held Wednesday, 9 a.m. from Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, to St. Lucy's Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours with the cremains present will be held Tuesday, 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Members of the Pontelandolfo Community Club will meet at the funeral home on Tuesday evening at 6:30 p.m.
