Born near Sigorney, Iowa, to Elijah & Elizabeth (Wilson) McClenahan. Moved with widowed mother to homestead in western Nebraska. Homesteaded with his mother, five brothers and one sister on present day Scottsbluff, Ne.
Married Louise 'Lucy' Fink in 1889. Had two sons, Myrl & Lloyd. Moved to Grand Island, Ne.; then to Salt Lake City Utah in about 1906. Became disabled from his work as a carpenter in about 1917. Died in 1943 at home on Kensington Avenue in Salt Lake City.
