Funeral services for Mildred (Pyle) Walker, age 80 of Madisonville, are set for 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2016, at the First Baptist Church of Madisonville, with Bro. Mark Trichel officiating. Burial will follow in the Madisonville City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, June 13, 2016 at the Madisonville Funeral Home. Mildred was born on July 20, 1935, in Madisonville, to Grace Atkinson and Floy Pyle. She grew up in Madisonville, moved to Killeen for part of her life, and later returned to Madisonville, where she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Madisonville. Mildred worked as a secretary for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for a number of years. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Walker, and a sister, Barbara Brown. She is survived by a son, John F. Housman of Hilltop Lakes, Texas; two daughters, Diana Schultz, and husband Richard, of Temple, Texas, and Kristye Hinds, and husband Jeffrey, of Temple, Texas; and a sister, Patricia Gore of Bridge City, Texas. Serving as pallbearers will be Howard Brown, Ralph Brown, Travis Brown, James Gustine, Richard Schultz and Jeffrey Hinds. Services are under the direction of the Madisonville Funeral Home.
