Nov.23,1965-Funeral services for Mrs.Emma Maude Gray, 89, who died this morning, will be held in Stevens Funeral Home on Wednesday. Services will be conducted by Rev.J.William Watson and Rev.Lester Nance. Burial will be in Mt.Vernon cemetery. A member of a prominent pioneer family, Mrs.Gray died at the home of her nephew, George Eldridge on Barrow Hill Road. She had been in failing health since a serious illness two years ago, and critically ill the past month. Known as "Lady," she was born at the old Eldridge home here on Dec.14,1876, the daughter of Mary Laughinghouse and John Edward Eldridge. She was a lifelong member of First Methodist Church here. Her husband, Joe A.Gray, who she married in 1918, died in 1936. Mrs.Gray is survived by two brothers, Rolfe C.Eldridge, Sr. and Fred Eldridge Sr., both of Forrest City; and several nieces and nephews. Forrest City Times-Herald.
