Ellis Marion Shriner, 73, Cimarron, died Friday, Oct. 27, 2006 at Meade District Hospital in Meade.
The son of Archer C. and Sylvia M. Cullison Shriner, he was born May 23, 1933, at Gueda Spring. He and Sherry Bartholomew were married Aug. 17, 1952, in Blackwell, Okla.
He served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean conflict and worked at Boeing in Wichita.
Mr. Shriner moved to Cimarron in 1961 and worked as an engineer at Channel 6 TV station in Ensign for 33 years before retiring at Curtis Machine in 2000. His hobbies included playing the fiddle at J.C. Music and Fort Dodge and he was a member of the First Christian Church in Cimarron.
Survivors include his wife, Sherry Shriner of Cimarron; two sons, Kenneth E. Shriner of Wichita and Isaac B. Shriner of Cimarron; three daughters, Shelly L. Smith of Cimarron, Carolynn L. Tallant of Salina and Kathrynn A. Knipp of Louisburg; a sister, Leota Herlocker of Wichita; his father-in-law, Albert Bartholomew of Wichita; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Orie, Dawsey and Duane Shriner; and a sister, Irene Reid.
