Marvin William “Buddy” Clark, Sr., 80, of Hortense died Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at his residence after an extended illness. The Glynn County native lived in Brantley County most of his life and was a retired painter with Local Union 1169 of Brunswick and U.S. Navy Veteran. He enjoyed fishing, shrimping and being Papa to his grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Nephi and Viola Clark; sisters, Beverly Carter and Pat Hodge; brother, Jimmy “Gator” Clark.
Survivors are his wife of 58 years, Pat Walsh Clark of Hortense; daughter, Debbra Spradley of Jesup; 5 sons, Marvin William (Elizabeth) Clark, Jimmy (Beth) Clark, Richie Clark and Timmy (Melissa) Clark, all of Hortense, Charles (Janie) Clark of Atlanta; sisters, Louise King of Brunswick, Sandra (Roger) Box of Mt. Pleasant; brothers, Rex (Brenda) Clark of White Oak, Leonard (Janice) Clark of Waynesville, Mike (Margie) Clark of Waycross; 18 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 11, 2016, at Family Cemetery, 91 Otter Road, Hortense, GA 31543 with Rev. Hugh Harrison and Rev. Hugh Hodge officiating.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, June 10, 2016 at the funeral home, 860 Hwy 301 South, Jesup, GA 31546.
