Vincent C. Pino, age 89, passed away on Monday, June 6, 2016.
Vincent was born in Albuquerque, NM on April 18, 1927 to Lucas and Adelina (Moya) Pino.
Vincent attended school at St. Mary's until the family moved to Socorro in 1938. Vincent attended Mt. Carmel School, then graduated from Socorro High School.
Vincent enlisted in the United States Army and served in World War II, in Japan, as a medical surgeon assistant. After World War II, Vincent attended electronic school in Chicago for four years. Vincent returned to Socorro to apply his electronic education, but then followed his father and brothers to establish Pino Plumbing and Heating. Vincent operated the business for 54 years until retirement.
Vincent was a member of the V.F.W. and the Knights of Columbus. Vincent also served as a City Councilman for several years.
Vincent was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Jacob M. Pino and Vincent Pino Jr., sister, Eloisa P. Baca and brothers, Jacob Pino, Stanley Pino and Jimmy Pino.
Vincent is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Fedelina (Chávez) Pino, great-aunt, Edna Moya of Albuquerque, NM, sister, Christina McAlexander, brother, Joe Pino of Socorro, NM, granddaughter, Jaylyn Castillo and many nephews and nieces.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, June 12, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Daniels Family Funeral Services - Socorro Chapel, 309 Garfield St, Socorro. The Holy Rosary to be recited on Monday, June 13, 2016 at 8:30 a.m. at San Miguel Catholic Church, 403 El Camino Real, Socorro, with The Mass of Resurrection to follow at 9:00 a.m. with Celebrant Father John Anasiudu. Burial will take place at San Miguel Catholic Cemetery following service. Pallbearers will be Brian Martínez, Joaquin San Juan, Lorenzo Pino Jr., Tommy Pino, Thomas Day and Richard Pino. Honorary Pallbearers are all of Vincent's many friends. A reception will be held following burial at the Knights of Columbus Hall, Highway 60, Socorro.
