Martha Jane Davis Torrence, 91, passed away early Tuesday morning, June 7, 2016 at Saturn Nursing and Rehab Center.
Born July 17, 1924 in Charlotte, she was a daughter of the late James Baker Davis and Mattie Threatt Davis.
Martha was a former member of Matthews Presbyterian Church and served with the Women's Army Corps during WWII.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Jack Torrence; a daughter, Dian Seegers and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include 2 sons, Harry Torrence of Charlotte and James Torrence and his wife, Carla of Apex, NC; a daughter, Pat Farr and her husband, Bob of Woodstock, GA; a sister, Sarah Christenbury of Mint Hill, NC; 7 grandchildren, Patrick Seegers, Allison Farr, Sam Seegers, Justin Torrence, Michelle Brown, Cara Riggs and Morgan Torrence and 12 great grandchildren.
A memorial service in honor of Martha is planned for 2 pm Friday, June 10, 2016 at Wilson Funeral & Cremation Service, 5301 Albemarle Rd., Charlotte, NC 28213 where friends may visit one hour prior to the service.
