Floyd Bartlett Canfield, Sr., 89, of Hurricane, joined his heavenly family on Monday, June 6, 2016 at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston. He was born Dec. 28, 1926 as a son to the late Douglas David Sr. and Lora Gladys Bartlett Canfield in Montrose. He was a retired civil engineer for the West Virginia Department of Highways and also Ashland Coal Company. He proudly served his country during World War II in the Army, and was a member of Cross Lanes Baptist Church. He previously was a member in several fraternal organizations, although he resigned to focus sharply on continuing to be a soldier of the Lord. Surviving: wife of 44 years, Mary L. Conley Canfield; daughters, Donna Kay Simmons (Bill) of Mabie, Karen Sue Phipps (David) of French Creek and Patricia Ann Moroz (David) of Lyman, S.C.; sons, Floyd B. Canfield, Jr. (Becky) of Montrose and Richard Lee Canfield of Elkview; stepdaughter, Anita Chapman (Brent) of Charleston; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson.
