She was born in Surry County, on September 5th, 1935 to the late Gene and Bessie Adams Burchett. A resident of this area most of her life, she was a retired employee of Furnitureland South. Imogene enjoyed spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, preceding her in death were her son, Mike Washburn; 3 sisters and a brother.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters, Becky Dunlap and her husband Jamey, Joyce Craven and her husband Billy; her daughter in law, Virginia Washburn; her brother, Clyde Burchett. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
A service to celebrate Imogene’s life will be held at 11 am on Friday, June 10th, at Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale, with Reverend Harold Shives officiating. Her family will receive friends on Thursday, June 9th, from 6 until 8 pm at the funeral home, and other times at the home of her daughter, Becky Dunlap.
