Word was received here this morning of the death of Mrs. Peter Bhymer, in Battle Creek. Mrs. Bhymer was the widow of the late Peter H. Bhymer, former sheriff of the county.

Mrs. Peter H BhymerMrs. Jennie Bhymer, 72, widow of Peter H. Bhymer, former seriff of Calhoun county died at a local hospital at 5 a. m. today. She had been critically ill since April 16, but entered the hospital only yesterday. At the time of her death, she resided with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Frederick (Letha) Durkee of 122 Wah-Wee-Nork drive. Mrs. Bhymer was born in Bellevue, Feb 23, 1874, the daughter of Sylvester and Emily (Bailey) Young, and came to Battle Creek with her parents while still a child. She had lived here since. She and Mr. Bhymer were married in Marshall in June, 1896. He served as law enforcement officer and polcie detective in Battle Creek, then as undersheriff and sheriff, dying in office March 8, 1929. While he was sheriff, she was a matron of he county jai in Marshall. She was a member of the First Methodist church, belonging to the auxiliary to the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Firemen, and to the Degree of Honor. She owned a grocery store at the corner of Wattles road and East Michigan avenue following Mr. Bhymer's death, but gradually retired from many of her activites because of failing health. Besides her daughter, she is survived by a brother, Fritz Young, of Lansing; a sister, Mrs. Lena Kirkpatrick of National City, Calif., and three grandchildren, William E. Leckrone, Gloria June Durkee and Michael Durkee, all living at the Wah-Wee-Nork drive address.

RHYMER, MRS. JENNIE. Friends are being received at the D. E. Royal Funeral Home where services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 p. m Burial in Bellevue.
